Job Description

We are looking for experienced professionals and freshers who hold a background in Space decor and thrive to create an impactful and larger than life experience via extraordinary designs.

Here at Surreal, we are looking for visionaries to elevate our installations and deliver larger-than-life décor for our clients. Candidates must have a strong sense of colour, lighting, design, and architecture.

Individuals who can self-manage, work with cross-functional teams, and meet deadlines even under pressure, would be the right fit for the role

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating innovative and engaging retail design concepts mainly focused on Décor and Installations. Most of our project work is disruptive, larger than life, and high on visual appeal.
  • The candidate will be required to lead design projects entirely – from the concept stage to overseeing the rendering and final client presentation to overlooking the project at the execution stage in collaboration with the production team.
  • Material selection and all aspects related to colours, textures and treatments.
  • Ensuring the execution and treatment is as per the initially conceived design.
  • Working closely with a team of designers with various skill sets to take designs from the initial concept stage to 3D assets ready for physical manufacturing.
  • Visualize and understand the project end to end and create thematic concepts accordingly
  • Editing of design renders based on the brief shared and feedback received
  • Should be able to work on a wide range of projects covering all aspects of the project, including thematic decor, decor propping, art installations, stage set designing, backdrops for event branding, wedding decor designing, etc.
  • Coordinate with Ops teams in the execution of the project and/or assignment

Required Qualifications and skills

  • Knowledge of Retail space design, Space management, retail fixtures, lighting, and planogramming.
  • Strong understanding of design softwares such as Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCad.
  • Understanding of 3D softwares to create retail space layouts and models.
  • Excellent eye for highest quality detail
  • Ability to work as a team player with design and production team
  • Background in Art/Architectural History, 2D & 3D design history, as well as interior design.
  • An understanding of Industrial Design - what it takes to bring something from raw concept to physical product.
  • Self-starter with good time management skills and a desire to see things completed

3D Artist

Job Description

3D artists excel in 3D modeling (organic/inorganic) to work alongside our visualisers to create stunning decor designs.

Passionate about 3D modeling and looking to work with creative artists and designers? Then we are looking for you. Those with expertise in modelling and texturing might be preferred. We encourage diversity, creativity, drive, and team spirit.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Design team to create the Design Concept
  • Understand and respect the identity and techniques of the project as established by Directors
  • Ability to efficiently multitask on various projects
  • Create 3D models in both low and high-polygon counts, depending on the project.
  • Problem solve any technical limitations and issues using creative and resource-efficient solutions
  • Create realistic 3D models and textures including architecture, organic objects and props in accordance with the artistic direction, production deadlines and technical specifications.

Required Qualifications and skills

  • Artistic and creative aesthetic sense
  • Graduate degree/Diploma in 3D animation
  • Exceptional understanding of organic and inorganic forms and a keen eye towards form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regards to modelling
  • Proficient in any one Content creation tools like Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop Production / Operations

Production/ Operations

What you will be Accountable for / Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Follow up on the concepts and proposals approved by clients and put them into reality.
  • Source for materials and act as a negotiator to obtain cost-effective prices from suppliers.
  • Key liaison between client, in-house designers and other 3rd party vendors leading up to the execution, ensuring that both client and design requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and manage the set-up and production on site, ensuring the delivery of a high quality décor.
  • Plan and propose workflows for installation setups
  • Supervise and manage all suppliers and contractors working on location.
  • Required to work closely with the members of the team to collectively produce a setup
  • To handle multiple projects during peak season time
  • Logistics management and inventory control of all equipment, materials and any other items
  • Project planning, project budgeting and execution
  • Vendor management and negotiations
  • Quality Control mechanisms

What you bring to the team / Qualifications and skills:

  • Artistic and creative aesthetic sense
  • 2 - 3 years solid experience in the event industry.
  • Possess a good network of suppliers and contractors contacts.
  • Highly competent with excellent technical, visual knowledge and hands-on skills.
  • Able to take “common-sense" initiatives and make sound judgements and decisions.
  • Effective crisis management
  • Good time management.
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to negotiate in the interest of the company.
